Re: Timed events not working

In most cases the iBootBar will need to have a network connection to have the correct time to run the scheduled event. Set the Use NTS to no, since there is not network, and be sure the time is set on the device. There is no battery backup, so set the time after plugging in where is needs to be con...

Timed events not working

Timed events stopped working on both iBootBars connected to network. Tried switching Use NTS Yes to No and vise versa, rebooting, powering off and on - no effect. The IbootBar not connected to network (dead ethernet port) works OK. Any idea what's wrong ?
Thaks in advance.

Re: Setting up a iBoot bar cluster

One more thing - you wrote that RS485 is used to communicate via ibootbars, is it possible to use a pair of E-P232-X IP-to-serial adapters instead of RJ11 cable ?

Re: Setting up a iBoot bar cluster

The cable is RJ-11, but must be a data cable. (Straight through and not a cross over.) Standard RJ-11 phone cables are usually cross over. (Technically, the iBB uses only the center pair for RS-485 communication.) No, since the RJ-11 on the back of the iBB units are in parallel, which you use does ...

Re: no connect to NTP server

The iBootBar uses the TIME protocol (port 37) and not the more prevalent newer NTP (port 123). If you are using your own server at 24.56.178.140 have the admin confirm it uses the TIME protocol on port 37 as well. (most servers can be setup to support both.) If you need a list of available servers ...

Re: Setting up a iBoot bar cluster

Cluster setups are meant to be close in proximity to each other and need to be connected via the expansion jacks on the rear of the units. You can keep the network connection as well, but just making the setting changes will not make the units communicate as cluster through the network. That being ...
