I have an IP-815 iPal controller, software version 2.3a. As it uses ARP to set the ip address (rather than DHCP from a router), how would it be possible to set up port forwarding in a local router in order to access the unit from the internet?

When programming the ipaddress for the iP-815, select an address that is outside the DHCP pool.
The range of ipaddresses assigned by the DHCP server can be set in the router.
Then program the router to forward port 80 for web access and/or port 23 for telnet access to the the ipaddress you statically assigned to the iP-815.

Then from the outside you would access the iP-815 with
